Greater Noida: A woman journalist in UP's Greater Noida has filed a complaint against her husband and in-laws alleging harassment and being forced to quit her job. An investigation was started based on the FIR, said the police on Tuesday.
The woman journalist filed an FIR at Beta 2 police station on Monday and an investigation is underway. No arrest has been made so far.
The 30-year-old complainant was reportedly married in November 2017. Although it was a love marriage, her husband and in-laws are against her job.
Fed up with the harassment, she quit her job and started working on YouTube. She alleged that they abused her to the extent that she even thought of suicide. The woman also claimed that they were pressuring her to provide them with money.
"Under their pressure, I had to leave the job. I didn't have any means of earning, so a few days ago I started my YouTube channel. Unfortunately, even after I left the job, the behaviour of my husband, father-in-law, and mother-in-law did not change. On the contrary, they became more aggressive and threatening," the journalist claimed.
The woman journalist also alleged that on July 25, after a heated argument between her and the in-laws, her mother-in-law threatened to kick her out of the house. The woman also claimed that her husband tricked her into marrying him, although it was a love marriage. Their relationship was built on the foundation of lies, alleged the woman.
