A horrific accident occurred at the Semri Toll Plaza on the Kanpur Highway in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday afternoon, when a speeding truck collided with two stationary cars, injuring a toll employee and several passengers. The incident, which took place around 2:00 pm, was caught on CCTV cameras installed at the plaza.
The two cars had come to a stop at the toll booth due to a malfunctioning FASTag scanner. As a toll employee, identified as 56-year-old Ramakant Richhariya, attempted to manually scan the tag on one of the vehicles, a high-speed truck approached from behind and collided with both cars.
The toll worker was hurled into the air by the force of the crash, landing on the bonnet of one of the cars. The truck continued moving, dragging the cars and the employee for more than 50 metres before coming to a stop. The sudden crash caused panic among other toll workers on duty.
