To accelerate the development of the General Bipin Rawat Defence Industrial Corridor in Jhansi, the government has released over Rs 58 crore to the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA). The funds will be used for the construction of 30-meter-wide roads, drainage systems, a boundary wall, and ten entry gates within the corridor.

Following land acquisition, the construction of the boundary wall had been pending. The corridor is part of a broader plan to establish six defence industrial nodes across Uttar Pradesh, including Aligarh, Agra, Lucknow, Kanpur Nagar, Chitrakoot, and Jhansi, aiming to make the state a leader in the defence sector.
