A fire broke out in a warehouse in the Industrial Area of Kanpur. Shortly after the fire started, an explosion caused panic throughout the area. The fire brigade arrived at the scene and took control of the situation. The cause of the fire is reported to be a short circuit.
The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon at the warehouse of Vishnu Saran & Construction Company, located in the Industrial Area under the Fazalganj police station limits. A short circuit triggered the fire, and chaos ensued when oil-filled drums inside the warehouse began to burst, leading to explosions.

Manager Sanat Kanodia stated that the warehouse is owned by Vikas Agarwal. The firm supplies construction-related materials, including shuttering, plywood, and shuttering oil. Upon receiving information about the blaze, Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Deepak Sharma reached the spot with six fire tenders from the Fazalganj, Colonelganj, and Laatush Road fire stations to extinguish the fire.
