Kanwar Yatra 2025: In view of the arrival of Kanwariyas in Meerut, the traffic movement of heavy vehicles from Meerut to Muzaffarnagar and Haridwar via the Delhi-Dehradun highway was halted on Friday. The traffic was diverted from the Daurala underpass towards Chhota Mawana.
Kanwar Yatra 2025: One-Way Traffic Movement To Begin From July 15
The traffic authorities have announced that one-way traffic movement will begin on the Delhi-Dehradun Highway from July 15. However, traffic movement will be completely banned on the highway from July 18 due to the Kanwar Yatra. Only vehicles with a Kanwar Pass will be allowed on the highway.
SP Traffic Raghavendra Mishra said, “There is information of an increase in the number of Kanwariyas from Haridwar to Muzaffarnagar. In such a situation, the operation of heavy vehicles going from Meerut towards Muzaffarnagar and Haridwar has been stopped.”
Kanwar Yatra 2025: Traffic Diversion Announced For Heavy Vehicles
Heavy vehicles coming on the Delhi-Dehradun highway from Ghaziabad or Shamli or any other route are being taken from Mawana via the Daurala underpass towards Chhota Mawana, via Bahsuma, Meerapur, Bijnor and Dhampur to Dehradun.
Vehicles going to Muzaffarnagar are also going to Muzaffarnagar via Meerapur. SP Traffic has banned four-wheelers on the Kanwar Canal Track Road.
Light four-wheelers connected with essential services like milk, bread, vegetables, health, etc., will be operated based on the Kanwar pass only. Passes will be issued to light vehicles carrying essential goods and medicines to the camps.
Bhainsali bus stand on Delhi Road will be shifted to Sohrabgate on July 14. Heavy vehicles from Hapur Road will be allowed to operate from Bijli Bamba Marg from 1 AM to 3 AM and can also enter the city.
