JE News Desk: The Ghaziabad administration has prepared a road map for the smooth and safe movement of the Kanwar Yatra in the city. Lakhs of Kanwariyas from Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana will pass through Ghaziabad for the traditional Kanwar Yatra.

Shiv devotees from Gangotri, Yamunotri, Haridwar, Neelkanth and Garh Ganga will go to Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Punjab via Ghaziabad with Kanwar Yatra. There are two routes for Kanwar Yatra in the district, one of which is 25 km long from Muradnagar to Tila Mode pipeline road and the other is 42.5 km long from Kadarabad border to Ghaziabad-Delhi border. Preparations are on by the local authorities to make the main and subsidiary routes of the Kanwar Yatra pothole-free by June 30.

For this year's Kanwar Yatra, District Magistrate Rakesh Kumar Singh has issued instructions to the officials of the concerned department. The district has been divided into four superzones during the Kanwar Yatra. Four control rooms will be set up at Gangnahar, Meerut Tiraha, Tila Mod and district headquarters. In addition, NDRF teams along with the divers will also be deployed at Ganganahar.


Administrative arrangements regarding the Kanwar route:

  • 8,638 street lights and 180 CCTV cameras have been installed in the Yatra’s route

  • 150 tankers for clean drinking water

  • 29 ambulances, 250 doctors, 20 medical camps, 180 beds reserved

  • Male and female toilets

  • Rate list displayed at food shops

  • Complete closure of meat-liquor shops

  • Putting insulated plastic up to five feet on the electric pole

  • 14 teams of the Food and Drug Administration to check food items and substances

  • Arrangement of anti-venom dose vial, Tetanus vaccines, ointment, pain relief tube and anti-fungal medicine

  • Dustbin and cleaning system in Kanwar camp

  • Plastic items banned in camp

 

Responsibilities assigned to various departments:

  • Uninterrupted power supply in urban and rural areas

  • Generator management on behalf of Municipal body, Gram Panchayat and District Panchayat

  • 200 additional buses for Haridwar

  • Deployment of 11 Zonal Magistrates and 24 Sector Magistrates

  • Verification of new food shops on Kanwar routes

  • Special vigilance by marking villages with a mixed population
