The Government of India is set to launch the Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan-2025 for the upcoming Kharif season starting Thursday. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the campaign at 11:30 AM at Lok Bhavan Auditorium in Lucknow.

Announcing the details at a press conference on Wednesday, Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi said the 15-day campaign, which runs till June 12, will see over 12,000 agricultural scientists visiting farmers' fields across the state. A total of 225 teams have been formed to conduct events in every district.

The initiative aims to cover 10,125 locations across all 8,135 Nyaya Panchayats in Uttar Pradesh. Each location will host a three-hour interactive session involving officials from various departments including Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Irrigation, Cooperatives, Beekeeping, and Agricultural Science Centers. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is scheduled to attend the events in Meerut and Jhansi. The campaign’s coordination will be managed through control rooms set up at both the state and district levels. The Additional Director (Extension) will act as the state-level nodal officer, while Deputy Directors will oversee district-level operations.

The campaign is aligned with the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” and “Viksit Krishi,” aiming to make India self-reliant in agriculture while boosting productivity and enabling exports. Minister Shahi thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the farmer-friendly decisions taken in the recent Union Cabinet meeting, noting that the prosperity of farmers has increased under the PM's leadership.

He also credited Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for expanding crop procurement beyond traditional staples. This year, arrangements will once again be made to purchase crops such as gram, lentil, mustard, peanut, sorghum, and maize at Minimum Support Price (MSP) rates, in addition to paddy and wheat.

Minister of State for Agriculture Baldev Singh Aulakh, Principal Secretary Ravindra, and Agriculture Director Jitendra Singh Tomar were also present at the press conference.
