A world-class tent city has been set up across 350 acres at and around the Defence Expo site in Vrindavan Yojana for the 19th National Jamboree. Though preparations have been underway since August, security has been intensified following the recent blast in Delhi. Entry for all participants will be facilitated through RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) cards, while 400 CCTV cameras have been installed across the venue. A central control room equipped with 16 LED screens is monitoring every corner of the premises.
More than 35,000 Scouts and Guides, along with delegates from the USA, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and other countries, have begun arriving for the mega event, being hosted in Lucknow for the first time from November 23 to 29. The tent city has been divided into 13 blocks and 36 sub-camps. Entry cards are being issued to all participants, officials and staff, while the general public will not be permitted.

State Training Commissioner Adnan Ansari said that security arrangements have been designed on the lines of the Olympics. Over 250 foreign guests have arrived so far.
Adding to the scale of the event, an AI and IT hub is also being developed on the same land where the Uttar Pradesh Housing and Development Board plans to build an IT City, aimed at motivating young visitors to embrace new technologies. A 15-member team from IIT Delhi will participate, while students of St Clare’s Convent School on Kakori Road will showcase drones they have built. The venue will also host robot demonstrations and youth registrations on the My Bharat portal.
An RFID card enables secure access control. Entry is granted by simply tapping the card, which stores the holder’s complete details on an embedded chip. The technology uses radio waves for automatic, contactless identification and tracking.
Two sky towers and an adventure park have been created for the Jamboree, where a bicycle will run on a rope track 30 feet above the ground. Participants will also perform rope-based adventure activities. Cultural evenings will feature dance, music and performances representing diverse regions of the country.
