Lucknow, world-renowned for its etiquette, sophistication, and manners, saw its dignity tarnished by a few individuals on Thursday evening. While people travel from far and wide to witness the famous Sham-e-Awadh, Thursday offered a shameful spectacle that no one would wish to see.

Beautification For PM's Event

Earlier that day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the 'Rashtra Prerna Sthal' in the Basant Kunj area to the nation. The site, which was once a garbage dump spread over 30 acres, had been transformed into a beautiful landmark. To enhance its aesthetic appeal, small flower pots were placed along both sides of the roads leading to the venue. However, the effort to beautify the area was undone later that evening.

Loot Caught On Camera

Following the Prime Minister's event, people began stealing the decorative flower pots placed at the Rashtra Prerna Sthal and along the adjacent road. Bystanders recorded videos of the incident, which occurred under the jurisdiction of the Dubagga police station, and the clips soon went viral. Although those recording the videos tried to shame the looters, the individuals remained unfased and continued to carry the pots away.

Stir In Administration

The theft of flower pots and plants in the state capital has become the talk of the town. The entire incident was captured on camera. Since the videos of people walking away with the pots went viral on social media, there has been a stir within the Municipal Corporation, the District Administration, and the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA).
