The two-day consultation meeting of NITI Aayog, held at Raj Bhavan, shifted the focus of national research policy towards grassroots implementation. Experts from across the country deliberated on strategies to ensure that research and innovation extend beyond laboratories and directly improve the lives of people in villages and marginalised communities.
In the concluding session, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel emphasised that research is truly meaningful only when it reaches the last person in society and enhances their quality of life. She called upon officials to identify research-related challenges and initiate concrete dialogues to address them. The Governor also directed all universities to upload their research projects onto a common mobile application to ensure greater transparency and coordination.
The consultation featured key insights from renowned experts including CSIR-NBRI Director Dr Ajit Shasni, NIPER-Raebareli's Prof Shubhini Saraf, ICAR-Pusa's Dr AK Singh, DRDO's Dr Ashish Dubey, and Dr Rajesh Pathak of the Technology Development Board.
