The Municipal Corporation has intensified its campaign to identify Bangladeshi and Rohingya individuals residing illegally in the capital. Under the direct supervision of Mayor Sushma Kharkwal, investigation and verification procedures are currently being executed across various zones.

On Tuesday morning, the Mayor conducted a surprise inspection of the Portable Compactor Transfer Station (PCTS Centre) located in Vineet Khand 6, Gomtinagar, under Zone-4.

Focus On Employee Verification

During the inspection, the Mayor personally scrutinized the documentation of the sanitation workers stationed at the facility.

Targeted Checks: Particular attention was given to verifying the identity cards and related certificates of employees hailing from the state of Assam.

Objective: The Mayor made detailed enquiries to ensure that no Bangladeshi or Rohingya citizens were illegally employed in the city's waste management or sanitation sectors.

Directives For Contracting Agencies

Mayor Kharkwal issued strict instructions to officials regarding hiring protocols. She mandated that contracting agencies must not appoint any employee without a thorough background check.

Mandatory ID Checks: Agencies are barred from hiring any worker without verifying their identity cards and complete documentation.

Transparency: Verification of all sanitation workers, helpers, and other staff is mandatory to prevent illegal appointments and maintain transparency in the Corporation's operations.
