Lucknow Harassment Case: In response to the harassment incident near a flooded underpass in Gomtinagar, Lucknow, local police authorities have taken immediate action. Three senior officers, including the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Additional DCP, and Assistant CP, have been transferred. Additionally, the entire Samtamulak police outpost and the Station House Officer (SHO) of Gomtinagar have been suspended. Sixteen individuals have also been arrested in connection with the case.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed the matter in the state Assembly, CM said, "inke liye bullet train chalegi, uski tyari ki ja rahi hai" while naming two "top accused Pawan Yadav and Mohammad Arbaz."

The incident, which was captured on video and widely shared on social media, showed a group of men splashing water on a motorcycle as it navigated the waterlogged road. The men then surrounded the motorcycle, and one of the accused was seen groping the woman who was riding pillion.
The authorities have arrested 16 individuals in connection with the incident. The accused have been booked for attempting to outrage the modesty of a woman, rioting and other offences. The list of those arrested includes Pawan Yadav, Sunil Kumar Bari, Mohammad Arbaz, Viraj Sahu, Arjun Agrihari, Ratan Gupta, Aman Gupta, Anil Kumar, Piyanshu Sharma, Ashish Singh, Vikas Bhandari, Manish Kumar Saroj, Abhishek Tiwari, Krishna Kant Gupta, Jai Kishan and Abhishek Sahu.
The police have launched a massive crackdown, with officers from 52 police stations deployed to hunt down the absconding accused and rioters. Additionally, five special teams, including a surveillance unit, have been constituted to assist in the investigation. The authorities are relying on the "Safe City" surveillance system, which has cameras installed at various intersections, to track down the remaining suspects.
