The North Eastern Railway (NER) administration has made special preparations to facilitate devotees attending the Magh Mela 2026 in Prayagraj. During the fair period, six pairs of special trains will be operated via the Varanasi route.

According to Public Relations Officer Ashok Kumar, the schedule for these trains is as follows:

Chhapra-Jhusi Unreserved Special (05117 and 18): This train will depart from Chhapra Junction at 7:50 PM on January 30, 31, and February 1, 2, 13, 14, 15 and 16. It will halt at Varanasi City, Varanasi Junction, and Banaras Station the following day.

Barhni-Jhusi Unreserved Special (05121 and 22): This train will also run on January 30, 31, and February 1, 2, 13, 14, 15 and 16. Its stoppages include Sarnath, Varanasi City, Varanasi Junction, and Banaras Station.

Azamgarh-Jhusi Unreserved Special (05119 and 20): Similarly, this train will operate on the same dates: January 30, 31, and February 1, 2, 13, 14, 15 and 16.

Gorakhpur-Prayagraj Rambagh Special (05123 and 24): This train will depart from Gorakhpur at 8:30 PM on January 30, 31, and February 1, 2, 13, 14, 15 and 16. It will stop at Sarnath, Varanasi City, Varanasi Junction, and Banaras Station.

Chhapra-Prayagraj Rambagh Special (05113/14): This train will depart from Chhapra Junction for Prayagraj on January 30, 31, and February 1, 2, 14, 15 and 16.

Chhapra-Jhusi Unreserved Special (05115 and 16): Finally, this train will also operate on January 30, 31, and February 1, 2, 13, 14, 15 and 16.

The operation of these special trains will provide travel convenience to pilgrims visiting the Magh Mela, assisting them in fulfilling their religious duties.

The Railway Administration decided to operate these special trains in view of the increasing number of devotees expected at the fair. This initiative will not only facilitate the passengers but also generate additional revenue for the railways. Pilgrims are advised to plan their journeys in advance and reach the station on time.

Running special trains via Varanasi during the Magh Mela is a significant step for the devotees, helping them complete their religious rituals. The administration has taken necessary measures to ensure that passengers do not face any difficulties during their journey. Through this special service, the Railway Administration has prioritised the convenience of the devotees and aimed to contribute to the successful organisation of the Magh Mela.
