In a survey of tourists conducted by the Government of India during the Maha Kumbh, Ayodhya, Varanasi and Prayagraj Sangam have emerged as the main destinations among the tourist places of the state. The Tourism Department released the survey data on Tuesday, which states that domestic and foreign devotees spent an average of Rs 5877.63 in the Maha Kumbh.

Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said, quoting Deloitte, that the Government of India had conducted the Maha Kumbh Spiritual Survey-2025 from the All India Institute of Local Self Government. Between January 28 and February 26, 1093 tourists from 45 countries including the US, United Kingdom, Canada, Nepal, Australia, Fiji and 3,51,295 Indian tourists participated in it.

On the question of the last place of visit, 27.32 per cent of the travelers named Ayodhya, 22.68 per cent named Sangam Prayagraj and 8.81 per cent named Varanasi. For the next visit, 32.57 per cent chose Sangam Prayagraj, 12.46 per cent chose Ayodhya and 7.46 per cent of the travelers chose Varanasi. 

On the question of the favorite place, 22.55 per cent chose Ayodhya, 19.96 per cent chose Sangam Prayagraj and 12.27 per cent of the travelers preferred Varanasi.According to the survey, 40 per cent Indians came with family, 30.88 per cent alone, 29.13 per cent with friends. 

While 55.26 per cent foreign tourists came alone, 24.43 per cent with family, 20.31 per cent with friends. Tourists spent 41.11 per cent on travel, 16.64 per cent on accommodation, 11.24 per cent on food, 11.08 per cent on buying religious items, 2.13 per cent on entertainment etc., 7.42 per cent on shopping and 10.38 per cent on other things.
