A second road accident occurred in Mathura on Thursday morning due to dense fog, resulting in the death of two motorcycle riders and leaving a third critically injured. The youths had just completed their prayers at Giriraj Ji and were travelling to Barsana to visit the Radharani temple when the tragedy occurred.
Thick fog had enveloped the region since early Thursday morning. Amidst these poor visibility conditions, three youths were riding a motorcycle from Goverdhan to Barsana. Around 8:00 am, near the Jarela intersection on Goverdhan Road, their bike collided with another vehicle due to the fog. One of the riders died instantly at the scene.
The second victim succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital. The third youth, who suffered a leg fracture, was referred to the District Hospital for treatment. Barsana Station House Officer (SHO) Chetram Sharma stated that the police reached the location after receiving information around 8:00 am that three people were lying injured on the road.
One of the deceased has been identified as Tannu Sharma, a resident of Keshav Nagar, under the Swaroop Nagar Police Station area in Delhi. The identity of the second deceased has not yet been established. The injured survivor, identified as Abhishek (also from Keshav Nagar, Delhi), explained that he had come to Vrindavan with his friend Tannu Sharma on Wednesday evening to visit the Banke Bihari temple. On Thursday, they were heading to Barsana after visiting Giriraj Ji.
Prior to this incident, another fatal accident occurred late Wednesday night on the Agra Highway. Near the CNG petrol pump at the Baad bridge, an unidentified vehicle ran over two youths, killing both of them on the spot.
