Two youths were injured when their speeding car overturned in the middle of the Delhi-Dehradun Highway late Monday night. The accident occurred in front of the Doab Vilas Hotel.

Police officials stated that the occupants of the car were intoxicated at the time of the incident.

The Incident

According to the police, the accident took place around 1:30 am. The vehicle was travelling at high speed from the direction of Subharti University towards the Partapur Interchange. Upon reaching the area in front of the Doab Vilas Hotel, the driver lost control, causing the car to overturn and skid for a considerable distance before coming to a halt in the middle of the road.

Rescue And Police Action

Hearing the loud crash, residents of the nearby Dungrawali village and passers-by rushed to the scene. They managed to right the overturned vehicle and pulled the two injured youths out of the wreckage.

Police arrived shortly after and admitted the injured to the Bhudbaral Community Health Centre (CHC) for treatment.

Official Statement

Station House Officer (SHO) Satveer Singh Atri confirmed that both individuals were found to be in an inebriated state.

"Both injured individuals are intoxicated and are currently unable to provide their names and addresses correctly. They have been admitted to the Bhudbaral CHC and will be questioned once they sober up."
