A teacher was shot in the back while leaving his workplace, the American Institute of English Language on Sharda Road, on Friday night. The victim, Amit Tyagi, was found bleeding on the stairs of the coaching centre and has been admitted to KMC Hospital. Police have begun an investigation, and a forensic team has been called to the scene.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:15 pm. The coaching centre, located on the first floor, is owned by BJP leader Nimesh Vashisht. According to Nimesh, he, Amit, and two other colleagues were at the centre. As Amit, a teacher at the institute for 15 years, was leaving for home and walking down the stairs, someone shot him from behind.

Nimesh stated that he and the others rushed out after hearing Tyagi's shout. They found him covered in blood and immediately took him to the hospital before informing the police.

Inspector Ramakant Pachauri arrived at the hospital and spoke with the victim. Although not in a condition to give a full statement, Amit managed to tell the police that the attacker, who was wearing a black mask, shot him and fled. Doctors have since performed surgery, and his condition is now reported to be out of danger.

SP City Ayush Vikram Singh has confirmed that a detailed investigation into the incident is underway. The forensic team is examining the scene to gather evidence and determine the direction from which the shot was fired.
