Meerut Traffic: If everything moves forward as planned, Meerut could finally see an end to its long-standing traffic troubles along with a major boost in its urban infrastructure. A detailed development proposal, put together by Cantt MLA Amit Agarwal in collaboration with officials from Setu Nigam (U.P. State Bridge Corporation) and the PWD, has been submitted to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. If the proposals get the green light, Meerut could soon emerge as one of the most developed cities in the region.
According to Jagran.com, MLA Amit Agarwal said that these development proposals were discussed during Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s recent visit to Meerut. “He not only agreed with the plans but also asked for detailed proposals", he added.
Following this, Setu Nigam submitted proposals worth Rs 1,035 crore specifically for the Cantt area, while PWD submitted separate proposals amounting to Rs 741 crore. In total, development proposals worth Rs 5,535 crore have been sent for the entire division.
All eyes are now on the government’s budget approval. Once the funds are allocated, work on these transformative projects will begin, reshaping the face of Meerut.
