In a shocking incident, a 21-year-old National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) aspirant has died by suicide in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur on Friday, leaving behind a note for his parents.
The victim, identified as Mohammad Aan, was a resident of Rampur and had begun staying at a hostel in Rawatpur four days ago, reported NDTV. Mohammad’s roommate, Imad Hasan, had earlier urged him to join him for Friday prayers, but he declined. Upon returning, Imad found their hostel room locked from the inside. Unable to get a response, Imad alerted the local police, who broke open the door and found Mohammad hanging from the ceiling.
The police recovered a suicide note near the body, which read, "Mom and Dad, please forgive me. I am very stressed, I will not be able to fulfill your dreams, I am taking my own life, I am responsible for this."
The police have sent the victim's body for a post-mortem and informed the student’s family.
Jaipur Student Suicide Case
In a separate incident, a nine-year-old girl died by suicide after jumping from the fourth floor of a private school in Rajasthan's Jaipur. The tragic incident took place on November 1. The CCTV footage captured the incident, showing the girl climbing the railing before jumping. The parents of the minor girl have now blamed the teacher for ignoring their complaints about their daughter.
According to a report by India Today, the deceased student's mother, Shivani, alleged that their daughter was bullied in school and she had informed the teacher about it. Despite this, no action was taken.
The victim's father, Vijay, cited an incident at a parent-teacher meeting, saying that a boy was making gestures at the victim.
He said that he brought up the incident to the class teacher, who dismissed it. He alleged that the teacher asked the girl to understand that it was a co-ed school. The parents also expressed dissatisfaction with the police probe. A family member of the girl claimed that the girl had been complaining about the bullying for almost a year.
