Police stated that prior to the incident on Tuesday, Arif recorded a video holding his wife and in-laws responsible for his decision. After consuming poison, he was taken to Muzaffarnagar Medical College, where doctors declared him dead. Station House Officer Jasvir Singh added that the body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and further investigation is ongoing.

"The man's video is being examined and necessary action will be taken," PTI quoted Singh as saying.

In a separate incident, a 30-year-old man, Nikhil Goswami, allegedly killed his two minor daughters before taking his own life at his home in Ballabgarh Sector 8 on Thursday, police said. Initial investigation indicated that Nikhil had been depressed following the death of his wife, Pooja, during childbirth nearly two months ago.

No suicide note was found at the scene. Nikhil, who worked as a supervisor in a private company, was married in 2019 and had two daughters: two-year-old Siddhi and newborn Riddhi.

Police stated that Nikhil allegedly hanged his daughters from a ceiling fan and then hanged himself in another room. The bodies were discovered by Nikhil’s father, Uday Shankar, who immediately informed authorities. A spokesperson for the Faridabad police confirmed that an investigation into the case has been launched.
