NCR Pollution: Diesel autorickshaws have now been completely banned in Noida and Ghaziabad, following the Uttar Pradesh government’s decision to enforce a phased prohibition on such vehicles across the UP region of the National Capital Region (NCR). Officials said the move is part of a larger effort to curb rising vehicular emissions and improve deteriorating air quality.

The state government has rolled out a comprehensive action plan to tackle pollution in NCR districts. Road dust has been identified as one of the biggest contributors to pollution and authorities will prioritise road redevelopment, enhanced dust suppression systems and extensive cleanliness drives across affected urban areas.
