The Noida Authority has launched a strict campaign against group housing developers who have failed to clear their outstanding dues, even after the implementation of the Amitabh Kant Committee’s recommendations. The Authority has started putting up hoardings on government land adjacent to defaulting housing projects, displaying the names of developers who have not deposited their dues.

The drive began with Lotus Panache in Sector-110 and Supertech Eco City in Sector-137, and will soon cover other projects, including those under proceedings in the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). The list of such projects will also be uploaded to the Authority’s official website.

While some residents have objected to the move, Noida Authority CEO Dr Lokesh M clarified that it is not a punitive action but an information campaign to make the public aware of the financial status of these projects. “The hoardings are placed outside the premises, on government land. There is nothing wrong with informing people about outstanding dues,” he said.

According to officials, several developers owe the Authority thousands of crores of rupees, and many have not availed the benefits offered under the Amitabh Kant report, implemented in December 2023. Despite policy relaxations, they have not cleared their dues.

So far, 35 out of 57 developers have taken advantage of the scheme by depositing Rs 528.13 crore, representing 25 per cent of their dues. Six developers have paid their dues in full, while 13 developers have paid a partial amount of Rs 28.60 crore. The funds collected have enabled the registration of 5,758 flats, of which 3,724 registrations have already been completed.

The Authority has identified 10 developers who failed to pay despite giving consent, 13 developers who made partial payments, and 35 others who did not deposit any amount beyond 25 per cent. In the coming days, the Authority plans to intensify action against defaulters.

The Noida Authority Board has also ruled out any extension of the deadline for availing government policy benefits, deciding that recovery will now proceed under existing regulations.
