The Noida authority is rapidly preparing e-charging stations in the district ahead of the operation of e-buses. A total of five e-charging stations are set to be operated at the Noida depot. 

One of these is already operational, while the construction of three others is underway. Additionally, the budget for another one is still pending. According to Transport Corporation officials, currently a total of 305 buses run on CNG fuel, with the operation of e-buses to commence from the new year.

Around four double-decker e-buses are set to operate from the Noida depot, which will receive these buses soon. However, at present, the Noida depot does not have a single e-bus. 

Being part of the Delhi NCR region, work is being done to emphasise e-buses in the future, in addition to CNG buses. UP Roadways is now making efforts to increase the number of e-buses in the Delhi NCR region. Air pollution is a major problem in the NCR region, and continuous improvements are being made keeping this in mind. 

E-buses coming from the Mathura and Agra depots are charged here in the district. It currently takes up to two hours to charge one bus. In such a scenario, if a large number of e-buses arrive here, the problem of charging them will increase. Keeping this in mind, a rapid expansion is being carried out.

“One charging station is currently operational at the Noida depot. A total of five stations will be operated, and construction work for the others is ongoing,” said Rohitash Kumar, Assistant Regional Manager, Gautam Buddh Nagar.
