With the vision of “work for every hand and a roof over every head,” the cities of Noida and Greater Noida were developed, and now the same planned model is being implemented in Yamuna City, officials said.

Urban development in the region has been carried out with a structured approach, ensuring space allocation for residential, industrial, institutional, and commercial purposes. Residential schemes have been introduced for people from all economic backgrounds to ensure balanced population planning and affordable housing.

While housing and infrastructure have been created for corporate houses, IT firms, and entrepreneurs, special provisions have also been made for the working class through affordable plots and flats. Alongside industrial development, essential facilities such as schools, hospitals, markets, and housing colonies have been established in accordance with the needs of various workforce segments.

To support daily wage earners, designated labour markets (labour chowks) operate in key locations, including Sector 58 in Noida and the Delta Roundabout in Greater Noida, where skilled workers assemble every morning for employment. Authorities also organise regular job camps in factories, enabling employment for 50 or more individuals at a time.

The region is witnessing a surge in entrepreneurship as young people, women, and even citizens above 50 years of age are starting micro and small industries under various government schemes. To further boost manufacturing, the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority has made 17 factory units available for rent at Site-5, generating additional employment opportunities.

Large-scale housing projects across Noida Sectors 70–79, 50, and 34, Greater Noida West, Omicron, Builders Area, and Chi–Phi sectors, as well as the Yamuna Authority region, are providing homes to hundreds of thousands while creating thousands of construction jobs. Temporary accommodation and community kitchens have been arranged for labourers at construction sites with environmental safeguards in place.

In line with the ‘Safe City’ initiative, plans are underway to establish women’s hostels for female students and working professionals, equipped with facilities such as libraries, conference halls, computer labs, and mess services.

Education and healthcare infrastructure are supported by both government and private institutions. Over the last three years, more than 10,000 youth have been trained and employed through more than 150 skill development centres, significantly strengthening the region’s workforce.
