Nine days later, on Friday, Noida police solved the mystery of the woman's body, which was found headless and handless in a storm drain (barsatinaala) in Sector-108 on November 6. A bus driver, who was having an affair with the married woman who had left her husband, murdered her fearing disrepute for his two daughters.

After brutally murdering the woman inside the bus, he dismembered the body. He disposed of the body parts in drains in Noida and Siddhartha Vihar, Ghaziabad. He allegedly drove the bus over the severed limbs several times. Afterwards, he returned home and acted normally. Police became suspicious after noticing a bus passing the crime scene with its lights off, which led to the accused's arrest on Friday.

Monu Solanki, a resident of Nehru Nagar in Etah's Jaithra, lives on rent in Barola village with his wife, two daughters, one son, and his mother. For the past six months, Monu has been driving a bus for a satsang (religious gathering) organisation. Two years ago, he worked at a jeans factory alongside his mother and Preeti Yadav (alias Preeti Devi), who lived 300 meters from his home.

Preeti Yadav lived separately with her two children, aged five and eight, due to her husband's criminal tendencies. With frequent visits to each other's homes, Monu and Preeti began an affair. He was financially supporting her. For some time, Monu had been distressed by Preeti's alleged "wrong conduct" and her persistent demands for money.

Threatened To Force Daughters Into Immoral Acts

When she didn't receive the money she demanded, Preeti allegedly threatened Monu that she would force his two daughters into immoral acts. This caused Monu extreme distress. He felt unable to tell anyone. The concern for his daughters' future was consuming him, and he decided to get rid of Preeti.

On the evening of November 5, Monu called Preeti on the pretext of taking her for an outing. On the pretext of preparing chicken, he also took a gandasa (cleaver) from the woman's house. He picked her up in the bus and stopped in Sector 105, where he bought parathas and Maggi. An argument broke out inside the bus over her demands for money and her insistence that he leave his wife for her. When she allegedly spoke ill of his daughters, Monu lost his temper.

Hacked With Cleaver, Then Drove Bus Over Limbs

He attacked Preeti's neck with the cleaver. Then, inside the bus, he severed her head and hands. He dumped the torso in the Sector-108 drain. From there, he drove to Siddhartha Nagar in Ghaziabad and used the bus's wheels to mutilate the severed parts, which were in a plastic bag. He then threw the limbs, the bus mat, his clothes, and the cleaver into a nearby drain and returned to Barola. Upon reaching Barola, he washed the bus four times.

When Preeti did not return home the next day, Monu brought her two children to his own house. When his family and the children asked where she was, he claimed Preeti had left without informing anyone and that her phone was switched off. Because Preeti had a history of disappearing for days at a time, no one suspected foul play.

Killer Lover Caught Because O The Bus

Meanwhile, nine police teams were working to identify the victim and locate the killer. A white and blue bus, associated with the satsang, was spotted passing near the crime scene with its lights off around 8:30 pm on November 5. A team led by Noida ACP-1 Praveen Kumar Singh gathered information about the bus from the satsang management and subsequently arrived at the driver Monu's house on Thursday.

At the house, they met Monu's mother and the children and began making inquiries, during which they learned of Preeti's disappearance. When police showed a photo of the two toe rings (bichuas) worn by the victim, the children suspected it might be their mother. Police detained Monu, and under rigorous interrogation, he broke down and confessed to the murder.

Based on the accused's confession, police recovered the mutilated limbs, the cleaver, clothes, and the bus mat from a drain in Siddhartha Vihar, Ghaziabad. An investigation also revealed bloodstains inside the bus. DCP Yamuna Prasad stated that the accused has been arrested and sent to jail.

The process of matching the victim's DNA with her family members is being carried out. Based on electronic evidence, forensic evidence, and witness statements, a strong prosecution will be pursued to ensure the accused receives the strictest possible punishment.
