Noida is set to get 19 new powerhouses next year as part of a major modernisation project aimed at strengthening the electricity supply network. According to Vivek Kumar Patel, Superintending Engineer (Technical) at the Western Power Corporation Limited (PVVNL), the new units will help resolve frequent power issues, particularly during the summer and monsoon months.
PVVNL currently serves around 4.5 lakh consumers in the district, many of whom experience periodic outages. The government has already allocated funds for the project, and construction of the powerhouses will begin at multiple locations across the city to ensure faster response and uninterrupted power supply.

These power houses will be established in Sector 63's D, G, J, H Blocks, Sectors 117, 65, NSEZ-03, Sector 80 Phase 2, Bhangel and Salarpur, Sector 80 C Block, Sector 140, Sector 138, Sector 124, Sector 126, Sector 16, Sector 108, Sector 132, Sector 8 and Sector 59. Separate SDOs have been appointed for each.
With the new system in place, separate teams from the Electricity Corporation will work on each task. For the convenience of city residents, eight helpdesks have been created, which will remain operational continuously.

“Under modernisation, work is being continuously done to supply electricity to the city without interruption. After the construction of the power house, the problems of the people will be reduced,” said Sanjay Kumar Jain, Chief Engineer, PVVNL, Gautam Buddha Nagar.
