Under the second phase of the Electricity Corporation's One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme, camps were established at over 24 locations in the Noida district on Sunday. Defaulters are being informed about the scheme's benefits through these camps, where more than 250 consumers registered on Sunday.
Ritesh Anand, Superintending Engineer of the Electricity Corporation, stated that on Sunday, camps were set up at eight locations each in the Dadri, Greater Noida, and Jewar areas. Consumers are also being informed about the benefits of the OTS so that as many defaulting consumers as possible can take advantage of the scheme.
He stated that on Sunday, he personally inspected the camps set up in the villages of Kudi-Kheda, Dhoommanikpur, and Pyawali in the Dadri area, and defaulting consumers were informed about the scheme's benefits. He stated that more than 85 per cent of defaulting consumers are in rural areas.
Consumers in these areas are not showing much interest in taking advantage of the scheme, despite a discount of up to 20 per cent being offered for the first time on the principal amount as well as the interest. More than 250 defaulters registered under the scheme, generating approximately Rs 30 crore in revenue for the department.

Meanwhile, 22 people involved in electricity theft cases also registered, depositing approximately Rs 5 crore in revenue. There are more than 48,000 defaulters in the district, of whom 16,000 consumers have so far registered under the scheme. This has generated Rs 37 crore in revenue for the Electricity Corporation.
