YEIDA New: The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority(YEIDA) on Monday cancelled the allotment of 16 industrial plots over irregularities found after a probe. The allotment was scheduled under the Industrial and Toy Park Scheme 2020 in sectors 29 and 33 in Greater Noida.
An internal investigation revealed a severe violation of the guidelines of the scheme as multiple members from the same families secured more than one plot by creating separate companies.
YEIDA Launches Investigation Into Allotment In Greater Noida
“In multiple cases, husbands, wives, and sons created multiple companies to obtain allotments,” the Hindustan Times quoted Arun Vir Singh, YEIDA chief executive officer.
700 applications were received following a draw held in October 2020. Complaints emerged immediately after the draw, saying multiple members of the single family had obtained the allotments. YEIDA officials said that scrutiny revealed that some applicants lacked required documents but were included in the draw based on verbal instructions.
To address the complaints, allotment letters specified that each family unit, defined as including spouse and dependents, is entitled to only one allotment. Any attempt to obtain more than one would result in cancellation as per the rules, the YEIDA official added. “Yeida will refund the deposited amount to the affected allottees after deducting 20%,” Singh said.
A committee under the additional CEO investigated 43 allotments, revealing that 28 allotments belonged to 10 families. 16 of these 28 were cancelled after legal opinions.
YEIDA: Industrial And Toy Park Scheme 2020
The Industrial and Toy Park scheme was launched in 2020 during COVID-19 and offered 855 plots. 712 of these plots were for Industrial Park in Sector-29, and 143 plots in Sector 33 for Toy Park. YEIDA received 2,785 applications, of which 2,290 were found eligible.
