In a move to boost the ready-made garment sector under the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme, a flatted factory is being constructed in GIDA Sector-13, Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) area. The multi-storey facility, designed as a ground-plus-three-floor building, will house 80 fully equipped flats for garment units.
Entrepreneurs can start their businesses immediately in these plug-and-play flats, needing only machinery and raw materials. The facility, spread over 30,000 square metres, will feature an exhibition hall to showcase products, a marketing outlet, space for employees’ children, fire-fighting equipment, and dedicated lifts.

The project, costing Rs 42.36 crore, aims to create direct and indirect employment for around 2,000 people. RN Singh, President of the Chamber of Industries, noted that 80 per cent of the flats will be allocated to ready-made garment businesses, while 20 per cent will be available to other entrepreneurs.
This initiative follows the Ministry of MSME’s approval two years ago and complements the ongoing development of a garment park in Gorakhpur, positioning the city as a potential hub for the ready-made garment industry.
