Delhi-Noida Metro Update: In a major boost to commuter convenience, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation Limited (NMRCL) has introduced an integrated QR code ticketing system, which will allow passengers to travel across the Noida and Delhi metro networks using a single QR code.

Speaking to ANI, NMRC Managing Director Lokesh M said, “Passengers will get great convenience. Now, Noida Metro and Delhi Metro QR codes will be available on a single app. Delhi Metro tickets will also be available on NMRC's app, and Noida Metro QR tickets on DMRC's Sarathi app. Tickets for both metros can now be purchased through a single app. In the future, you will be able to travel in NMRC and DMRC metros with a single QR code. Payments can be made via net banking, credit/debit cards, or UPI. Developments are ongoing for a unified platform for both DMRC and NMRC.”

Noida-Delhi Metro Integration: Here’s All You Need To Know

- According to the NMRC official, passengers will be able to travel between Delhi and Noida Metro using a single, unified QR code-based ticket.

- This means commuters will not have to purchase different tokens for DMRC and NMRC, improving commuter convenience and promoting the use of public transport.

- Though the metro networks are managed by two different bodies, DMRC and NMRC, this step marks a significant push towards unified urban mobility.

- Additionally, authorities are developing an integrated smart card system, eliminating the need for separate tokens or cards with a single travel solution.

- This initiative aims to reduce wait time and benefit thousands of commuters travelling between Delhi and Noida Metro.

Speaking about upcoming metro corridors, Lokesh said, “Construction on the 2.6 km Bodaki to Metro Depot route, valued at ₹416 crore, will commence soon. The 11.56 km Sector 142 to Botanical Garden route, costing ₹2,200 crore, has received approval and awaits Government of India clearance. Paperwork for the third metro route from Sector 51 to Knowledge Park V is in progress, with approval expected shortly.”
