As part of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-2 for urban areas, the state government will offer substantial support to elderly individuals, widows, and abandoned women. By extending eligibility to the middle-income group, in addition to the grant, senior citizens will receive an extra 30,000 rupees, while widows and abandoned women will get 20,000 rupees in additional aid.
The relevant proposal from the Urban Development Department has been approved by the Cabinet through a circulation process. Before the Cabinet meeting on January 22, to be presided over by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at the Prayagraj Kumbh, 22 proposals were approved through this circulation, though the government has not yet provided specific details. It is anticipated that the full details of the key decisions from the approved proposals will be disclosed following the Cabinet meeting during the Mahakumbh.
PM Awas Yojana-2: Those Who Construct House Within 12 Months Will Receive Reward Of Rs 10,000
A significant proposal approved via Cabinet by circulation is associated with the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-2 for urban areas. As part of this scheme, individuals who complete the construction of their house within 12 months will receive an extra reward of 10,000 rupees. Eligible beneficiaries are already entitled to a grant of 2.50 lakh rupees for building their house.
PM Awas Yojana-2: House Cannot Be Sold Or Transferred For 5ive Years
The state government will now provide additional funds to support elderly people, widows, and abandoned women. These houses cannot be sold or transferred to another person for five years. This scheme, which is divided into four categories, includes interest subsidy, individual housing construction by the beneficiary, affordable housing through partnerships, and affordable rental housing schemes.
PM Awas Yojana-2:Subsidy Up To Rs 2.50 Lakh Will Be Given Through Banks
Under the interest subsidy scheme, those taking loans will receive a grant of up to Rs 2.50 lakh from banks. In the second scheme, a grant of Rs 2.50 lakh will be provided for construction on a 30 square meter plot of land. The third scheme will offer a subsidy of up to Rs 2.50 lakh for buildings constructed by the development authorities and housing development councils for the economically weaker section, low-income group, and middle-income group. The scheme will prioritise persons with disabilities, senior citizens, transgender individuals, SC/ST communities, widows, unmarried women, minorities, and other marginalized sections of society.
