A permanent ghat is set to be constructed along the banks of the Yamuna River near the ancient Shri Sujavan Dev Temple, a popular tourist and religious site located in Devariya village of Jasra development block, Prayagraj.
On the occasion of the Yam Dwitiya fair, Mahant Rajiv Giri Ji Maharaj, Peethadheeshwar of Sujavan Dev and village head of Deoria, formally submitted a request to Prayagraj District Panchayat President Vivek Singh for a permanent bathing ghat. Responding positively, the Panchayat President has approved the proposal.
District Panchayat President's Protocol Minister, Rajesh Shukla, recently inspected the site and confirmed that construction work for the ghat will begin soon. Given the large number of devotees who visit the Sujavan Dev Temple daily, especially during the Yam Dwitiya fair, the decision to build a permanent ghat was taken to improve facilities for pilgrims.
On Sunday, March 30, engineers and officials conducted a site inspection near the temple, accompanied by chief priest Gyanendra Goswami Ji Maharaj and head priest Mahant Rajiv Giri Ji Maharaj. Rajiv Giri also informed that a meeting scheduled for April 10 will finalise the timeline, after which construction will officially commence.
