Uttar Pradesh News: In an attempt to boost the regional connectivity, a 'Ram Setu' bridge will be built over the Yamuna River in Prayagraj in the upcoming years. The officials stated that along with improving the connectivity, the 1200-meter-long bridge will also endorse the rich culture of the city. They further stated that the construction for the bridge is likely to begin in 2026 and the project is expected to be completed before 2030. Earlier in November, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that several projects will be announced in the upcoming months to boost the connectivity.
While providing details, the officials stated that the total cost of the bridge is estimated at Rs 258.76 crore. They further stated that while Rs 229.75 crore is set to be spent on the construction works, Rs 27 crore will be utilised for the land acquisition process. They emphasised that the construction of the bridge is likely to be completed in the next four years.

The officials also stated that the construction of the bridge will commence next near Yamuna Bridge and will end near Shivalaya Park. The width of the Ram Setu will be approximately five meters, making it easy for the residents to walk. They asserted that statues of gods and goddesses will also be installed at a distance of 50 to 100 meters to promote the cultural richness of the city.
Prayagraj Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani stated that Shivalaya Park, Triveni Pushp, and other religious sites are located near the Yamuna bank, adding that preparations are underway to construct the bridge. The project manager stated that the DPR for the Ram Setu has been prepared and made available to the Municipal Corporation. He further stated that construction work will begin once the budget is allocated.
