In view of the heavy rush of passengers during Dussehra, Diwali, and Chhath, the Railway Board has announced the operation of three more Puja Special trains via Gorakhpur. These services will run between Mau–Udhna, Sitamarhi–Anand Vihar, and Gomtinagar–Bengaluru.
Railways has planned 150 Puja Special trains between September 21 and November 30, covering 2,024 additional trips. Over 12,000 trains are expected to run for the convenience of passengers heading towards Bihar, and notifications for these services have begun.

According to the schedule:
Mau–Udhna Weekly Puja Special (05017/05018): Train 05017 will depart from Mau at 5:30 AM every Saturday between September 27 and November 1, reaching Udhna at 12 noon the next day.
From Gorakhpur, it will leave at 9:30 AM. In the return direction, train 05018 will leave Udhna at 3:00 PM every Sunday from September 28 to November 2, departing from Gorakhpur at 7:40 PM the following day to reach Mau at 10:30 PM
Anand Vihar–Sitamarhi Daily Puja Special (04016/04015): Train 04016 will depart Anand Vihar at 3:30 PM daily from September 29 to November 30, reaching Sitamarhi at 3:00 PM the next day, via Gorakhpur at 7:35 AM.
The return train, 04015, will leave Sitamarhi at 4:30 PM daily from September 20 to December 1, reaching Anand Vihar at 6:15 PM the next day, passing through Gorakhpur at 1:25 AM.
Gomtinagar–Bengaluru Weekly Puja Special (06529/06530): Train 06529 will depart from Bengaluru at 5:00 PM every Monday until December 22, passing through Gorakhpur at 6:50 AM on the fourth day, before reaching Gomtinagar at 11:30 AM.

The return train 06530 will depart Gomtinagar at 12:20 PM every Friday until 26 December, leaving Gorakhpur at 5:00 PM and arriving in Bengaluru at 8:15 AM on the fourth day.
Railway officials said the move is aimed at ensuring smooth travel for festival-bound passengers.
