Following the stampede at New Delhi railway station, which claimed 18 lives, railway authorities have heightened their vigilance. The Moradabad rail division has decided to monitor the sale of general tickets from stations every two hours through UTS, Jagran.com reported. If ticket sales exceed the limit for regular coaches, ticket sales for all nine stations in Prayagraj and for Phaphamau will be suspended for safety reasons.

In addition, the crowds travelling to and from Delhi, Punjab, and Dehradun will be closely monitored until February 26.

Railway officials stated that the crowd at Moradabad stations has remained manageable, with trains arriving fully occupied. Currently, a total of 12 special trains are operating from New Delhi, Bhatinda and Dehradun. Officials also mentioned that, for the past four days, the Railway Board has been running unannounced trains to help manage the crowd.

The SP Rail has also directed GRP stations to maintain security and control the crowd at stations and on trains. The joint team of RPF and GRP will increase patrols until February 26, remaining stationed near the coaches of every incoming train.

For the past four days, the Railway Board has been running special trains without announcements based on crowd conditions. Senior DCM Aditya Gupta mentioned that stations with intermittent train arrivals are likely to experience heavy crowds, especially with the ongoing Maha Kumbh. Therefore, every two hours, information will be collected regarding general ticket sales at these stations. So far, no station in the division has exceeded the ticket sales limit.
