Two of the Indian deportees immediately got arrested after the United States military plane carrying the second batch of 119 illegal Indian immigrants landed in Punjab's Amritsar on Saturday. The Punjab police arrested the cousins at the airport as they were wanted in a murder case in Patiala district.

The police stated that they had been searching both of them, and it was later known that they had crossed the borders. They further informed that the two detainees are cousins and are identified as Sandeep and Pradeep. The accused are wanted in a 2023 murder case in Patiala. A team of Patiala police was waiting and arrested them as they landed at Sri Guru Ramdas Airport on Saturday.

The police further informed that they belonged to Rajpura town and had been declared proclaimed offenders in the Patiala murder case. While providing the details, the police said that the accused were booked under sections 302, 307, 323, 506, 148, and 149 of the Indian Penal Code by Patiala Police. The case was registered on June 26, 2023; however, a 'Look Out Circular' was not issued against them yet. The officials stated that the accused will be interrogated regarding the information related to the case.

Third Batch Of Deportees Likely To Arrive Today 

The illegal immigrants were sent back to India as part of Trump's anti-illegal migration campaign. A US military plane carrying the third batch of Indian deportees from the US is expected to land at Amritsar airport in Punjab on Sunday. The reports suggested that almost 157 illegal Indian migrants residing in the US will be sent back on this flight. Earlier on Saturday, a US plane carrying 119 Indian deportees landed at Amritsar airport.

The deportees are sent back amid a political row over the issue in India. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday stated that the flights are landing at Amritsar airport to defame Punjab. He also stated that while the deportees belong to many states of the country, Punjab is being defamed by this move of the central government.
