An IndiGo flight at the Kanpur Airport was delayed for around three hours on Sunday after a rat was spotted inside the plane, causing inconvenience to the passengers and staff on board.

According to the information, the flight en route to Delhi was scheduled to depart at 2:55 PM. All 140 passengers had boarded the flight when someone noticed a rodent jumping around inside the cabin.

The passengers immediately informed the IndiGo staff about the rat's presence, after which the passengers were safely evacuated.

Passengers evacuated, search conducted

Following this, a search operation to zero in on the rat was conducted. The search continued for an hour and a half. According to a report by NDTV, the flight departed from Kanpur at 6:03 PM.

It was scheduled to arrive in Delhi at 4:10 PM, but landed at 7:16 PM. The aforementioned media portal quoted airport media in-charge Vivek Sigh, confirming the presence of the rodent inside the aircraft and subsequent evacuation of passengers as a precautionary measure.

Bird's nest in wings delays flight 

An Air India Flight was also delayed by over three hours at the Mumbai Airport on June 25 this year when parts of a bird nest were discovered inside one of the aircraft’s wings. The aircraft was set to depart for Bangkok from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA).

The nest was spotted by a passenger after he noticed twigs near the wings and reported it to the flight attendant. Following this, a thorough inspection was conducted and another aircraft was arranged for the passengers.
