At the conclusion of the Kaushal Mahotsav (Skill Festival) on Wednesday, rain did not deter the spirits of job-seeking youth, as a flurry of job offers brought joy to many. Out of 30,387 young people who registered over the two-day event, 14,400 were interviewed, and 8,124 received job offers.
Despite not receiving their appointment letters from the chief guests, the recipients were grateful to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary, and senior BJP leader Neeraj Singh. The festival, which was organised by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 75th birthday, had a target of providing jobs to over 7,500 young people. The event, held at Colvin Taluqdars' College grounds, surpassed this goal, with 177 companies offering positions to 8,124 candidates.
The selected candidates received offer letters with monthly salaries ranging from Rs 13,000 to Rs 40,000, along with other benefits. Interviews were conducted for apprenticeships in over 30 sectors, including automobile, retail, healthcare, IT, banking, electronics, tourism and agriculture, as well as in 11 government companies.

Yuvika and Aishwarya, two young women from Amity, secured the highest salary package at the festival, with an annual package of Rs 480,000. They were supposed to receive their appointment letters from the chief guests, but this was canceled due to the event being postponed. Anjali Srivastava, who is differently-abled, along with Aksha, Arshi, Alisa, Iram, and Mahesh Chandra from Madiyaon, also received job offers with monthly salaries between Rs 15,000 and Rs 35,000.
Rain Causes Major Disruptions
Heavy rain led to significant waterlogging at the festival site, creating chaos and making it difficult for both job seekers and company representatives to reach the main marquee where interviews were held. Even departmental officials could not enter the main tent due to the flooding. The ground inside the marquee, which was already muddy from the first day, was now completely waterlogged, with everything appearing to be floating.
