Magh Mela: Jhunsi-Chhapra Unreserved Ring Rail Service Announced; Operations From January 1

In a boost for devotees from Purvanchal and Bihar planning to take a holy dip at the Sangam during the Magh Mela, the railway administration has announced the operation of an unreserved ring rail service between Prayagraj (Jhunsi) and Chhapra via Bhatni. The service will run twice daily from January 1 to February 17, facilitating convenient travel for pilgrims.

North Eastern Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Pankaj Kumar Singh said the train will comprise 14 unreserved coaches, including General Second Class and Sleeper Class, allowing passengers to travel on general tickets.

Train number 05101, the Jhunsi-Ghazipur City-Chhapra-Thawe-Siwan-Bhatni ring rail service, will depart from Jhunsi daily at 9:00 am. The train will pass through Banaras, Sarnath, Aunrihar, Ghazipur, Ballia, Suraimanpur, Chhapra, Mashrakh, Gopalganj, Thawe, Siwan, Mairwa, Bhatni, Mau, and Banaras, returning to Jhunsi at 4:15 am the next day.

Similarly, train number 05102, the Jhunsi-Banaras-Mau-Bhatni-Siwan-Thawe-Chhapra-Ballia-Ghazipur City-Varanasi City-Jhunsi ring rail service, will depart from Jhunsi daily at 2:30 pm. It will run via Banaras, Mau, Bhatni, Mairwa, Siwan, Thawe, Gopalganj, Mashrakh, Chhapra, Suraimanpur, Ballia, and Varanasi, reaching Jhunsi at 9:00 am the following day.

The special ring rail service is expected to ease travel for thousands of devotees attending the Magh Mela.
