A dispute regarding the offering of prayers at the Hazra Masjid, located in Daniyalpur village under the Nagal police station area, turned violent on Tuesday. The argument between two groups quickly escalated into stone-pelting, causing panic throughout the village.
Two people, including a woman, were injured during the incident. The injured have been admitted to the hospital for medical treatment. Upon receiving the information, the local police reached the spot immediately and brought the situation under control.
Incident And Complaints
Residents of Daniyalpur, Gulzar and Yunus, submitted a complaint to the police stating that everyone in the village has been offering prayers together at the Hazra Masjid for years. However, recently, one group has been stopping them from praying. An altercation broke out over this issue, which later turned into a violent clash.

It is alleged that some individuals from the opposing side climbed onto the roof of the mosque and started throwing bricks and stones. Amrisha was seriously injured during this attack. On the other hand, Ikram, from the second group, alleged that the other side was exerting pressure regarding the maintenance and responsibility of the mosque. He stated that when he opposed this, he was assaulted, resulting in injuries.
Police Action And Status
Upon receiving information about the incident, Station House Officer (SHO) Rajkumar Chauhan arrived at the scene with a police force, managed the situation, and dispersed the crowd. The injured have been admitted to the District Hospital for treatment.
Abhitesh Singh, Circle Officer (CO) Deoband, stated that a case has been registered after receiving complaints from both sides. Given the seriousness of the matter, an investigation is underway, and strict action will be taken against the accused. Currently, the atmosphere in the village remains peaceful.
