Sambhal Road Accident: At least nine people sitting on the roadside on the Moradabad-Bulandshahr road, were crushed by a speeding pickup, in which five people have lost their lives. Others who sustained severe injuries were referred from Rajpura CHC to the district hospital.
The incident took place around 6:30 am when the speeding pickup going towards Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal crushed the villagers. According to Dainik Jagran, the villagers claimed that the pickup driver went to the wrong side and hit the vehicle. The deceased have been identified as Ompal son of Prempal, Puran Singh son of Sukhram, Dharamal son of Amar Singh and Liladhar son of Yadaram.
Apart from the deceased, those who sustained injuries in the accident have been identified as Pannalal and his six-month-old son Awadhesh, Jamuna Singh son of Bhaysingh and his younger brother Ganga Prasad, Omprakash son of Atar Singh.
The bodies of the deceased are currently kept in the Community Health Center of Rajpura. In another incident that took place in Sambhal, two people sustained severe injuries after being dragged by a moving car following a dispute over giving way in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal, the police said on Sunday. The injured have been identified as Roopkishore and Vinay Kumar, the officials said.
The CCTV footage shows that the vehicle dragged the youths for a significant distance before tossing them onto the road and then speeding away. Both individuals have been hospitalized with severe injuries, and the police are actively investigating the incident.
