The Uttar Pradesh State Agency For Comprehensive Health and Integrated Services (SACHIS) has developed a new app named “Sarathi” to assist Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) beneficiaries in quickly locating specialist hospitals during emergencies. The app will provide the exact locations of government and private hospitals listed under the scheme near the beneficiary’s residence, enabling family members to reach the hospital without confusion.
Archana Verma, Chief Executive Officer of SACHIS, stated that the app is currently undergoing testing and is expected to be launched within two weeks. In the initial phase, the app will feature precise geolocation data of 5,958 government and private hospitals registered under the scheme across Uttar Pradesh. Subsequent phases will introduce additional facilities and services for beneficiaries.
Currently, Uttar Pradesh has approximately 5.29 crore Ayushman Yojana beneficiaries. Sachij is conducting online sessions to ensure accurate geo-tagging of hospitals. Over 1,500 hospitals have already submitted their location details, which are being uploaded to the app.
The primary goal of the Sarathi app is to simplify access to healthcare by guiding beneficiaries directly to the nearest listed hospitals under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. This initiative marks a significant step towards improving emergency healthcare accessibility in the state.
