Amid Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav trading fire over bulldozers politics, the former, in a fresh salvo on Wednesday, said not everyone could handle the bulldozers, adding that both brain and courage are required to deal with the mammoth machine. CM Yogi’s remark came in response to Kannauj MP’s statement, where he said all bulldozers will turn towards Gorakhpur after the 2027 UP Assembly polls.
Speaking at an event in Lucknow, CM Yogi said, “Not everyone could handle a bulldozer. Both brain and courage are required in this. One should have stamina and resilience like a bulldozer to handle it.”

Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday reiterated the SP will form the government after the 2027 Assembly Polls in Uttar Pradesh. “In the 2027 UP assembly polls, the BJP will be wiped out and those UP results will have consequences on the national politics,” Yadav said while addressing his party workers at Lohia Auditorium in Lucknow.
Akhilesh’s quick response:
Akhilesh Yadav was quick to hit back at Yogi, asserting that the bulldozer had no brain and only steering was required to handle it. He also said no one is aware when people in UP and Delhi turn the steering of bulldozers (insinuating about change in government).
Hailing the Supreme Court’s observation on bulldozer justice, Yadav said the court has bulldozed bulldozer action in UP.
How bulldozer came to limelight in UP:
Notably, bulldozers occupied centre stage in the politics of UP, and later across India, after UP CM started using them to demolish the properties of infamous gangsters and wrongdoers in the state. This peculiar model of justice soon became famous in several BJP-ruled states, with the CMs ardently emulating it.

However, the Supreme Court on Monday categorically said the bulldozer justice was not acceptable, even if a person is convicted of any crime. The apex court said that it proposes to lay down guidelines on the issue.
The SC, however, clarified it will not protect any illegal structure obstructing public roads.
