Police, who went to arrest an accused in a deadly assault case, allegedly beat his father, BSP leader Satyabhan, and threw him from the roof, causing his death. A post-mortem was conducted by a panel at 1 am, after which the body was taken home in the presence of police. Police remained deployed outside the house throughout the night. The last rites are expected to be held by 12 noon.
Satyabhan Was The In-Charge Of BSP's MiranpurKatra Zone Three
Satyabhan, a resident of Mauzampur village in Tilhar, was the in-charge of BSP's MiranpurKatra Zone Three. An FIR for a deadly assault had been registered against his son, Abhishek, on August 22 by Aman Shukla, a resident of Nizamganj locality. On Tuesday night, Sub-Inspector Rahul Sisodia, along with his team, went to raid the house to arrest Abhishek.
Allegations Against Police
Satyabhan's wife, Rekha and son, Kuldeep, alleged that the police beat Satyabhan before throwing him from the roof. Before his death, Satyabhan himself had also made allegations against the police. An FIR has been registered against the Sub-Inspector and other police personnel.
Due to the tense situation, the post-mortem was conducted by a panel at 1 am. The body was then taken home under police presence. The last rites are expected to be held by Thursday afternoon.

SP Rajesh Dwivedi stated that the matter is being investigated thoroughly and further action will be taken based on the findings.
