The results of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student union election are set to be announced today, Thursday.
By yesterday, the counting of votes for 26 of the 47 councillor posts had been completed, with ABVP candidates securing victory in 14 of those seats. The vote counting continued late into the night.
All eyes are now on the results for the four main posts of the central panel: president, vice-president, general secretary, and joint secretary.
As per the latest counts, Aditi Mishra of the Left is leading for the post of president, and K Gopika of the Left is leading for vice-president. Rajeshwar Kant Dubey of the ABVP is leading for the post of general secretary, while Danish Ali of the Left is leading for joint secretary.
