UP News: In yet another case of dowry killing, a 21-year-old woman was beaten to death by her husband and in-laws in Gopalpur village of UP’s Mainpuri over dowry demand.

The brutal act was reportedly triggered by Rajni's inability to meet her in-laws' demand for an additional dowry of Rs 5 lakh to open a tent house.

The accused, including Sachin's brothers Pranshu and Sahbag, and relatives Ram Nath, Divya, and Tina, allegedly tortured Rajni when she failed to fulfill their dowry demands. The police stated that the family members had fatally assaulted Rajni on Friday and later performed her last rites in their field to destroy evidence.

Rajni's mother, Sunita Devi, lodged a complaint at the Oncha police station on Saturday, leading to the registration of an FIR against the accused. Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Rahul Mithas confirmed that efforts are underway to arrest the accused.

Upon learning of the incident, Rajni's mother, Sunita Devi, went to her in-laws' house and later filed a complaint with the Oncha police station on Saturday, naming six individuals in the FIR.

"An FIR has been registered against the husband and his family members. Efforts are on to arrest the accused persons," Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Rahul Mithas said.
