The Secondary Education Department has terminated the services of 22 teachers appointed in government secondary schools after it was found that they had secured jobs using forged documents in UP. The department has also directed that FIRs be lodged against them and that their salaries be recovered.
The case dates back to 2014, when vacancies for male and female assistant teachers in the Azamgarh division were advertised. Appointments were made based on a merit list prepared from marks obtained in High School, Intermediate, graduation, and training.

The dismissed teachers were posted in different districts. Following the department’s action, several of them have now approached the High Court seeking relief. The Secondary Education Department is preparing to file its response in court.
