The Yogi Adityanath-led state government is set to introduce a 20 per cent reservation for Agniveers in police and Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) recruitment. This benefit, along with age relaxation, will be extended to Agniveers retiring from the first batch in 2026. The Home Department has prepared the rules for this move, which will be presented during the cabinet meeting scheduled for Tuesday at Lok Bhavan, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Several BJP-ruled states have already announced similar job reservations for Agniveers. Notably, CM Yogi had made the announcement last year on Kargil Vijay Diwas.

The cabinet is also expected to deliberate on the One District One Product (ODOP) 2.0 scheme. This revised version will allow for the inclusion of multiple products per district and will focus on improving branding, packaging, marketing, and quality. A related proposal—One District One Cuisine—may also be introduced, aiming to identify and globally promote unique local cuisines from each district.

Additionally, three proposals from the Industrial Development Department are likely to be tabled, including the issuance of a letter of comfort to one company and subsidies for five others.

The meeting may also approve a new Export Policy for 2025–2030 and an Urban Green Policy aimed at enhancing greenery in urban areas. The Tourism Department’s Homestay Policy is another item expected to come up for discussion.
