Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday distributed appointment letters to 1,112 junior clerks and 22 X-ray technicians in the Health Department at a programme held in Lok Bhavan.
During the event, the CM raised concerns over irregularities in X-ray technician recruitments of 2016, revealing that one individual’s name appeared at eight different posts in exchange for money. “This reflects the loot and corruption that prevailed before 2017. Once the probe is complete, those guilty will spend their lives behind bars,” he said.
Highlighting the government’s employment record, Adityanath stated that 8.5 lakh youth have been recruited across departments, including police, education, health, agriculture, and infrastructure, over the past eight and a half years. Of these, 2.19 lakh are police personnel. “Earlier, only 3,000 recruits could be trained at a time. Today, 60,244 police recruits are undergoing training at their own centres,” he noted.
The CM also pointed out the state’s economic progress, saying that UP’s economy had grown from Rs 13 lakh crore eight years ago to an estimated Rs 35 lakh crore this year, driven by job creation within the state.
On the healthcare front, he said Uttar Pradesh has witnessed a transformation. “Earlier, there was a crisis of medicines, doctors, and electricity. Today, every district has mini-ICUs, ICUs, digital X-rays, blood banks, and free dialysis for the poor.”
Under Ayushman Bharat, 5.34 crore families are being benefitted, with treatment worth Rs 3,000 crore provided to over 80 lakh patients. Teachers are also being covered under cashless treatment schemes.
Medical education has expanded significantly, with MBBS seats rising from 5,390 to 11,850, PG seats from 1,344 to 4,028, and super-speciality seats from 120 to 305 since 2017. Over 1,225 medical teachers have been appointed in state medical colleges, and the number of medical colleges has doubled from 40 to over 80 in both government and private sectors.
Adityanath cautioned recruits against negativity spread on social media, where photos are often misused to tarnish the government’s image.
Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, Minister of State Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh, MLA Dr Neeraj Bora, Jai Devi, Legislative Council members, and senior officials were present.
The CM informed that so far, the Health Department has recruited 1,354 staff nurses, 7,182 ANMs, and 1,102 specialist doctors, along with 278 associate professors and 2,142 staff nurses in medical institutions, totalling 9,438 appointments.
Among those who received appointment letters were Janeshwar Dwivedi (Sultanpur), Anju Devi and Shivshankar (Sitapur), Rahul Kumar Verma (Sitapur), Preeti (Hardoi), Punit Kumar, Sneha Verma (Barabanki), Kajal Dubey (Ayodhya), Mohd.
