On April 13, on the eve of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, a large-scale cleanliness drive was carried out across Uttar Pradesh. The initiative focused on cleaning parks, monuments, public squares, and locations housing statues of Dr Ambedkar and other prominent figures.

In Varanasi, the drive was conducted across 694 gram panchayats and nearly all 100 municipal wards, overseen by the Municipal Health Officer. Notable sites such as Kachari Chauraha, Dhelwaria, Durgakund, and the Ambedkar Park and statue in Ramnagar were thoroughly cleaned.

Similar efforts were seen in Chandauli under District Magistrate Nikhil T Funde, and in Ghazipur, where District Magistrate Aryaka Akhauri and Municipal Council President Sarita Agrawal led the drive, covering 1238 gram panchayats.

The campaign also reached various locations such as Mohammadpur Gram Panchayat in Jaunpur’s Khutahan block, Ambedkar Panchayat Ghar in Aligarh’s Ward No. 33, Ambedkar Park in Shahjahanpur, and all four districts of the Prayagraj division. Ayodhya actively participated as well, focusing on cleanliness around Shri Ram Temple, Hanumangarhi, and Civil Lines.

The drive extended to multiple districts including Agra division, Jhansi, Etah, Gorakhpur, Deoria, Bareilly, Shravasti, Hapur, Aligarh, Amethi, Ambedkarnagar, Sultanpur, and several others, reflecting a unified statewide effort.
